Vladimir Putin’s missile stocks blown up in warehouse attack | World | News
A key Russian warehouse in occupied Crimea has been directly hit, according to multiple reports. The warehouse is said to have contained missiles used in Su-27, Su-30 and MiG-31 fighter jets, which Putin is deploying to wage war on Ukraine.
Official confirmation of the strike is yet to emerge, however the attack took place on the evening of May 15, according to Ukrainian spy group Atesh.
The Belbek airfield, where the Russian storage facility is said to be, suffered “significant damage” due to “secondary detonations”, according to Odessa Journal.
The Kyiv Independent reported that a fuel depot on the base caught fire following the Ukrainian strike, citing the eyewitness accounts reported by the Crimean Wind Telegram channel. Explosions were also reported in four other areas of occupied Crimea: Sevastopol, Simferopol, Dzhankoi, and Hvardiiske.
Atesh claimed that the Belbek warehouse stored “most of the missiles” for Russian Su-27, Su-30 and MiG-31 aircraft.
The group also claimed: “There was also significant damage to the airfield’s infrastructure as a result of secondary detonation,” Atesh claimed.
In its post on Telegram, Atesh said: “The main artillery warehouse of the Belbek military airfield was damaged
“ATESH agents from the Belbek airfield military report an accurate hit and many hours of subsequent detonation of the main missile and artillery weapons warehouse (military unit 80189).”
The post added: “Most of the missiles for the Su-27, Su-30 and MiG-31 aircraft that terrorize the Ukrainian people were stored in this warehouse. Significant damage to the airfield infrastructure as a result of secondary detonation was also recorded.
“Agents of our movement have repeatedly conducted external and internal reconnaissance of the specified military facility, which we informed the public about on March 14.”
