Hong Kong Stocks Extend Gains At Open

Hong Kong stocks opened with more gains Friday morning as investors brushed off losses on Wall Street and focused on possible US interest rate cuts and strong earnings for tech giants.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.77 percent, or 148.59 points, to 19,525.12.
The Shanghai Composite Index was flat, inching down 0.69 points to 3,121.71, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange edged down 0.10 percent, or 1.73 points, to 1,762.98.
